Kenny Louagie - Poker Bio

Rated one of the best young internet poker players in the world today by poker greats like T. Jacobs, Jeff Lisandro and Allen Cunningham - Belgian Kenny Louagie is taking the poker world by storm. Due to his low-profile lifestyle, the mainstream public has yet to meet Kenny and his aggressive style, but talent can't hide in tournament poker; so I decide to create this little internet shrine about Mr. Louagie in order to educate people outside of the poker's inner circle.

Kenny started playing poker seriously somewhere in 2006. Quickly beating the lower stakes games, online poker forums started to notice the amazing rise up the ladder he made; quickly being noticed in some of the highest stakes cash games available on the web. When asked about his enormously quick rise to stardom; Kenny often quotes fellow poker great Laurens De Smet for helping him hone his skills at a never-before-seen pace. When compared to Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius however, Kenny's humble personality rises to the occasion.

"I'm not Phil Ivey, and I'm not Patrik Antonius. These guys play at a level I'm not even close to - and they've been playing at that level for such a long period of time they've shown the poker world (and the bigger public at that) they've been able to fully eliminate the luck factor in this game of poker. I'm not there yet. Statistically; there's a good chance I am a great player - but proof for such a statement can only be given in the long run; and I haven't been around long enough to claim that kind of consistency."

One thing I wouldn't mind betting on, however, is seeing Kenny Louagie take down a major $10K+ No Limit tournament, like the WSOP and take down someone like Phil Ivey, in the next five years. His aggressive style of play; his unmatched ability to read opponents and his extreme strength in staying focused for long periods of time make him perfect for these deep stack No Limit tournaments, where avoiding pitfalls and errors is key to making it deep.

I'm a fan - and I don't have to hide it. I'll be on the rail cheering for Kenny as much as I possibly can - and look forward to seeing him develop into a real poker superstar, even more so than today.
